Obituary of Theresa M. Loveland
Theresa M. Loveland, 98, of Lakewood passed away on Tuesday, March 24,2026 at The Terraces, Lakewood. She was born and raised in Newark and during her childhood she moved to Montreal and later returned to Newark. Alongside her husband, Dudley, she raised her family in Colonia and Scotch Plains before settling in Freehold and later retiring to Lakewood to the Fairways at Lake Ridge. Theresa dedicated over 40 years to her family business, Jersey Shore Steel, where she served as a secretary. She was an active member of her community, enjoying bocce at The Fairways in Lakewood and bowling with both the Colonia Country Club and The Fairways leagues. Known as the life of any gathering, Theresa had a great passion for music, singing, and dancing. She was also celebrated for her devotion to her family, particularly for her pot roast and her ability to make every holiday special. Of all her roles, she most cherished being a grandmother and, more recently, a great-grandmother, affectionately known as "Gi Gi."
Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Dudley. She is survived by her four children, Valerie Rosenberg and her husband, Jeffrey of Howell, Lorrie Gratton and her husband, Robert of Howell, Gary Loveland and his wife, Patrica DeMarco of Bayville, Randy Loveland and his wife, Sherry Lynn Mackin of Freehold; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and one on the way.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday March 26, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM Funeral Mass on March 27, 2026, at St. William The Abbot, 2740 Lakewood-Allenwood Road, Howell Township, NJ 07731 Interment will be private.
