Obituary of Ivan Dario Arango Jimenez
Ivan Dario Arango Jimenez, 49, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in White Plains, New York and raised in Colombia, where he met his wife. Ivan then lived in Poughkeepsie and Buffalo before settling in Howell in 2015. Iván was a deeply loving husband and father who always showed his affection through his actions and dedication to his family. His charisma allowed him to connect easily with others, earning the admiration of everyone who had the opportunity to know him. He always made it a priority to protect his loved ones and to give them the very best he had. His passing leaves a great void, and he will be deeply missed.
He was a very hardworking man and the cornerstone of his family. Compassionate and empathetic, he was someone you could talk to about anything, always offering wise and sincere advice. His patience and willingness to help meant he was always there when he was needed most. He constantly made an effort to ensure his wife felt valued and cherished, like a queen, and that his children never lacked anything. He was a loving and caring father who always gave his very best for his family.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Jimenez; and father-in-law, Oscar Cortes. Ivan is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia L. Cortes Arango; children, Juan Esteban Arango, Antonella Arango, and Jeronimo Arango; siblings, Xiomhara Knapp and Leonardo Arango; father, Orlay Arango; nieces and nephews, Daniela, Santiago, Simone, Jaime, Lucia, and Elena; and mother-in-law, Lucia Forero; and brothers and sister in-law, Jaime, Oscar, Sandra, Juan, Pablo, Jason and Sofia.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Interment will be private. Iván Darío Arango Jiménez, de 49 años, residente de Howell, falleció el miércoles 8 de abril de 2026 en el CentraState Medical Center, en Freehold Township. Nació en White Plains, Nueva York, y creció en Colombia, donde conoció a su esposa. Iván vivió posteriormente en Poughkeepsie y Buffalo antes de establecerse en Howell en el año 2015. Iván fue un esposo y padre profundamente amoroso, que siempre expresó su cariño con hechos y dedicación hacia su familia. Su carisma le permitía conectar fácilmente con los demás, ganándose el aprecio de todos los que tuvieron la oportunidad de conocerlo.Siempre se preocupó por proteger a sus seres queridos y por brindarles lo mejor que tenía. Su partida deja un vacío muy grande, y lo vamos a extrañar profundamente.
Fue un hombre muy trabajador y el pilar fundamental de su familia. Compasivo y empático, era alguien con quien se podía hablar de cualquier tema, ofreciendo siempre consejos sabios y sinceros. Su paciencia y disposición para ayudar lo hacían estar presente en los momentos en que más se le necesitaba. Se esforzó constantemente para que su esposa se sintiera valorada y querida, como una reina, y para que a sus hijos nunca les faltara nada. Fue un padre amoroso y cariñoso, que siempre dio lo mejor de sí por su familia.
Le precedieron en fallecimiento su madre, Mary Jiménez, y su suegro, Oscar Cortés. Iván deja a su amada esposa, Sonia L. Cortés Arango; a sus hijos, Juan Esteban Arango, Antonella Arango y Jerónimo Arango; a sus hermanos, Xiomhara Knapp y Leonardo Arango; a su padre, Orlay Arango; a sus sobrinos, Daniela, Santiago, Simone, Jaime, Lucía y Elena; a su suegra, Lucía Forero; y a sus cuñados y cuñadas, Jaime, Oscar, Sandra, Juan, Pablo, Jason y Sofia.
El velorio se llevará a cabo en Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, ubicado en 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, el domingo 12 de abril de 2026, de 12:00 p.m. a 4:00 p.m. La inhumación será privada.
