Obituary of Debby Ann Detamore

Debby Ann Schmidt Detamore, 73 of Old Bridge, NJ peacefully passed away on April 11, 2026.   Born on August 19, 1952 in Hazelton PA,  she grew up in the Nuremberg, PA area where she would meet her husband of 54 years, Thomas Nelson Detamore.  They moved to NJ and lived in the Old Bridge area until her passing.  

Debby was known to all as a kind and caring soul.  She was a woman of strong faith and loved Jesus with all her heart.  In her younger years she helped with her husband’s business and raised her children.  Later Debby became a caregiver for several senior citizens and young children.   She adored her three grandchildren and spent lots of time at their activities as they were growing up.  Debby was a longtime member of Sayre Woods Bible Church and later attended Ardena Baptist where her oldest son Pastored. 

Debby was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Helena Schmidt; in-laws, Waddell and Alice Detamore; grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary and Abigail Detamore; and nephews, Scot and Kevin Maniscalco. 

Debby is survived by her husband, Thomas Detamore, Sr. of Old Bridge NJ; children, Thomas Detamore (Kristin) of Aplington IA,  Terry Reilly of Ava Marie, FL, and Michael Detamore of Old Bridge NJ; grandchildren, John Reilly, Tyler Detamore and Andrew Detamore; great grandson, Calvin Reilly; brother and sisters, Russell (Suzanne) Schmidt, Jr.,  Jill (Joseph) Marshall,  Mary Beth Schmidt, Kay (Wes) Martin, and James ( Anna) Schmidt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Francine) Maniscalco and John Detamore.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of life will be held at the Ardena Baptist Church, 593 Adelphia Road, Freehold on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at a time to be determined.
