Obituary of Theodore Louis Lundy
Theodore "Ted" Louis Lundy, 65, of Freehold, New Jersey, passed away on April 18, 2026, at his home. Born on November 26, 1960, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ted later moved to Wilkes-Barre, PA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilkes College and met his college sweetheart and beloved wife of 40 years, Barbara Lundy. Together, they started a family in Howell, New Jersey, before settling in Freehold in 1998.
A devoted Philadelphia sports fan and lifelong music lover, Ted was especially passionate about the Grateful Dead. He found joy in grilling, spending time by the pool, golfing, biking, and, most importantly, building a life centered around family and friends. He was a constant presence at his eldest, Brooke's, swim meets, dance recitals, and school events, and was endlessly proud of her accomplishments. He loved traveling to all his son, Jason's, baseball games—always showing up with pride and unwavering support. One of his happiest memories was officiating Jason's wedding this past September. His youngest child, David, was an inspiration to him. They shared an inquisitive spirit, often working on passion projects together, and Ted was especially proud of David's recent decision to pursue his MBA.
Known for his quick wit, vibrant spirit, and sense of humor, Ted's comedic timing and subtle one liners had a way of catching you off guard and leaving a lasting impression. He was a captivating presence in any crowd, which suited him well in his decades-long career in packaging sales. He eventually went on to start his own packaging sales company, where he built lasting relationships through his integrity and genuine nature.
Ted was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, Pop-Pop, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lundy (née Csaki); his daughter, Brooke Shaw (née Lundy) and son-in-law, William Shaw; grandchildren, Layla Mae Shaw and Colin Drew Shaw; his son, Jason Lundy and daughter-in-law, Farah Keuleers; his son, David Lundy and partner, Andrew Genua; mother, Jacqueline Brown; four sisters; mother-in-law, Dolores Csaki; sister-in-law, Janet VanFossen (née Csaki) and fiancé, Paul Pohlid; nephew, Charles VanFossen and wife, Jessica VanFossen; along with extended family and friends.
He was predeceased by his eldest son, Andrew Bernard Lundy; his father, Bernard Lundy; his paternal grandparents, Mae and Milton Lundy; his maternal grandparents, Jean and Dr. Solomon Chartock; and father-in-law, George Csaki.
