Obituary of Elisa J. Yick

Elisa J. Yick, 89, of West Windsor, New Jersey, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. She was born and raised in Havana, Cuba, where her family operated a couple of restaurant/grocery stores. She later moved to New York and married her husband, June Wing, and eventually relocated to Florida to raise their four children.  By the early 2000s, they settled and retired in New Jersey.

Elisa worked alongside her husband at their restaurant in Florida, and continued for many years in the food service industry taking on different roles. Her true joy, however, was her love as a seamstress, an interest that grew while in Havana and sharpened after enrolling in local sewing and tailoring classes.  She will be remembered for her innate curiosity in trying all things, especially where food is related, her love for DIY projects, and above all, her boundless love and dedication to her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband; siblings, Leon, Luisa, Lilia and Victoria; and son-in-law, Richard Lim. Elisa is survived by her children, Eddie Yick and his wife, Patty, Judy Lim and her fiancé, Bruno Ferrero, Abby Heyer and her husband, Ray, and Phyllis Vivalo and her husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Brittany, Brandi, and Katie-Rae; and sisters, Rita Chin and Ana Goon and her husband, Tom.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
