Obituary of Garrett S. Friedman

Garrett S. "Gary" Friedman, 85, of Farmingdale passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Artis Senior Living of Princeton. He was born and raised in Brooklyn and had lived in West Nyack, New York before settling in Farmingdale in 1991. Gary served honorably as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army. It was during this time that he developed his passion for aviation, which led to his career as a self-employed pilot. Outside of his professional life, he was known for his keen sense of humor and his fondness for birds, particularly his parakeets. His favorite title was the one of Grandaddy to his two grandsons who were the light of his life.

Gary is predeceased by his wife, Diane Friedman. He is survived by his two daughters, Jillian Reasor and her husband, Chris and Joy Dudley and her husband, Gary; two grandsons, Michael Reasor and his wife, Chloe and Robert Reasor; one great grandson on the way; sister, Greta Eichel and her husband, Stu.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown.
