Mary "Madeleine" Greenberg (AKA Mema), 77, of Freehold Township passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Jersey City, Madeleine grew up in Carteret before eventually settling in Old Bridge, where she raised her family and built a life rooted in love, laughter, and togetherness. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend,

Madeleine's greatest joy in life was her family. She loved nothing more than cooking meals for those she loved, gathering everyone around the table, and creating traditions and memories that will be treasured forever. Her home was always warm and welcoming — a place filled with laughter, comfort, and unconditional love. She especially cherished time spent with family at the beach, where some of her happiest memories were made.

A devoted wife to her husband, Alan, Madeleine was also a proud and loving mother and grandmother whose kindness, strength, and gentle spirit touched everyone around her. She had a remarkable way of making people feel cared for, and her love will continue to be felt through the family she adored so deeply.

She is survived by her husband, Alan; her children, David Greenberg and his wife, Cassandra Roman and Melissa Markette and her husband, Marc Anthony and her cherished grandchildren, Aiden Greenberg, Ryan Markette, Cameron Greenberg, Nicholas Markette, and Veronica Greenberg. She is also survived by her sisters, Veronica Smith, JoanAnn Mantovani, and Dorothy Shein, along with many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

She was predeceased by her parents, William and Veronica Rose; her brother, William Rose; and her sister, Rita Rose.

Madeleine will be remembered for her caring heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family. The love she gave so freely and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
