Funeral of Maryann Arias: Opening Remarks

Eulogy by Ernest G. Arias, Sr.

We are gathered together here for the purpose of a memorial funeral Mass for Maryann Arias, my wife of 59 years.

Dear family and friends,

I stand before you today with a heavy heart as I remember my beloved wife. She was the very foundation of our family—her love was a light that guided us all.

Maryann was a woman of deep faith, and her belief in God was the quiet strength that kept us anchored. In every moment of need, she was there, ready to help, to listen, and to guide us back to love and faith. Through her example, she taught us what it means to serve, to forgive, and to never waver in our commitment to one another.

In closing, I’d like to add that though we grieve now, we also celebrate the love she gave us—a love that will never end, and one that we will carry with us forever.
