Obituary of Maryann Arias
Maryann Arias, 80, of Jackson peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was born in Brooklyn, lived in Morganville for 44 years, and settled in Jackson in 2018. As a young woman, Maryann started her working career as a bookkeeper working for a CPA firm in Manhattan’s Financial District. She later worked for Trans World Airlines in Advanced Reservations Planning for corporate clients at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens. After raising the children, her last employment was the RIV Construction Group as a project manager in Colts Neck for many years.
Her greatest joy in life was her family – she was the matriarch. Maryann always made home cooked meals and during holidays received requests for her marvelous stuffed mushrooms, baked lasagna and ziti dishes. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Thomas More Church in Manalapan for 44 years and the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine for the past 8 years. Maryann found joy in being an artist and was a skilled painter. She attended the Parkinson’s Group meetings twice a week that started at CentraState Medical Center. Maryann above all things was a devoted wife, mother, and grandma.
She was predeceased by her brother, James. Maryann is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Ernest G. Arias, Sr.; children, Ernest G. Arias, Jr. and his partner, Jaanika Hamor of Millstone, Ann Marie Arias-Ramiz and her husband, Erol Sr. of Freehold, and John M. Arias of Eatontown; and grandchildren, Joseph M. Arias, Erol Ramiz, Jr., and Gabrielle Ramiz.
