Obituary of Karl Weber

Karl Weber of Manchester, NJ, passed away at the age of 88 on May 22, 2026. Karl was born on June 2, 1937, in Schweinfurt, Germany, to the late Stefan and Eugene Weber. After graduating from high school and meeting his wife, Ingeborg "Inge," they decided to leave Schweinfurt to come to the United States. Karl immigrated to the United States in 1959, followed by his wife, Inge, in 1960, in pursuit of the American dream and a career as a lineman with Jersey Central Power & Light. The couple got married in 1960 in Dover, NJ. Together, they shared a love of travel and exploration, including quick weekend getaways to the Jersey Shore and Catskills, visiting family in Germany, and even driving across the United States on more than one occasion. He was a loving and devoted father to his children, Mike and Chris, and always put his family first. Karl was also a member of the Swim & Sport Club (SSC) in Flanders, NJ. During his time at the SSC, he enjoyed playing fistball, tennis, and drinking beer with other members. Karl would spend some of his days volunteering behind the bar, maintaining the grounds, and cleaning the pool. Karl was an avid reader; he found joy taking candid photos of loved ones and loved music, specifically jazz. He also had an immense love for sports. Skiing, playing tennis, field hockey, and watching soccer. After his retirement, one of Karl's daily rituals was working out with friends at Riverside Fitness in Mansfield, NJ. One of his great pleasures was watching his granddaughter, Cayla, play field hockey at The College of New Jersey. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Inge; his son, Michael; his daughter, Christine; and his two granddaughters. Karl will be remembered with a big smile, big laughs, and a beer in hand. A memorial gathering will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM with his memorial service to begin at 11:30 AM.
