Condolences
To the Yaccarine Family,
I was very saddened to hear of the passing of “Mrs Yacc” through a Facebook post. My mind instantly brought me back to my St Rose days of school, sports and weekends spent at your home. What seemed like every weekend, my parents driving me over to your home where I was greeted by Mr & Mrs Yaccarine. A firm handshake from Mr Yaccarine and a big hug and kiss on my cheek from Mrs Yaccarine and off I ran down to your basement or out in the yard to jump on the trampoline or get a tackle football game set up. Always, midway through the video games downstairs or in between quad trips around the neighborhood, Mrs Yaccarine would always ask if I was hungry/staying for dinner. And like clock work, that invite rolled into an invitation to sleep over your house (after begging my parents and making them turn around as they were already on their way to pick me up). The Yaccarine’s always made me feel welcome in their home, but Mrs Yacc always looked my way with an extra serving of “peppas & eggs” at dinner and an extra blanket for those cooler basement sleepovers.
At the St Rose sports games, Mrs Yacc always saved my family a seat next to them to watch us play which my parents looked forward to knowing a seat in the loudest section was always reserved for them. Mrs Yacc took extra care of my brother with an extra hot dog, soft pretzel and napkins as she worked the concession stand. My mom and Mrs Yacc enjoyed their times setting up and running the Christmas Bazar and being the voices/faces of the raffle and 50/50 tables.
Mrs Yaccarine and her family were such a comfort not only to me, but my family as well. She was phenomenal woman that I was blessed to have met and known for so long through my friendship with Mike, Francesca and Anthony. It is with a very heavy heart I extend my deepest condolences to the entire family and Mrs Yacc will be in my thoughts and prayers during this time.
With Love & a “Go Jaguars”,

Dearest Family Yaccarine, The befriended McDermotts, from St.Rose of Lima days (through our son, Connor), were so saddened to learn of Geraldine’s passing. How we looked forward to your kind greetings and good company during sports events that left voices hoarse from cheering on our boys your-Michael , and, Michael’s pal: Connor; next, in “Communion Day” line; and, next to each other at basketball games. Thank you for kindnesses always extended to our family who very much admired yours. John and Geraldine were the best looking couple; remembered being seen, hand-holding in the bleachers during games. How Geraldine's would “chuff” over our disabled son, Blake, was heartwarming to bring tears to our eyes. He loved the attention from such a pretty lady, ever so , Geraldine!
Remember, too, overhearing your discussing an easy family dinner menu of eggs, associating the monetary Italian word “ fazooulis!”; that you chose to translate for me with a smile and a wink. How beautiful , a family , seen in the photo loop. Geraldine was a bright star to behold up close and from a distance as our families parted ways due to changes of Catholic school venues. One does not forget wonderful people; even if classified as an “away team.” Prayers and blessings from us, many, are pouring forth over the Family that meant everything to an amazing , woman, mother, spouse and, friend, named Geraldine.
Most fondly,
Damian /Joan Mc Dermott and Family
