Obituary of Marie Recek
Marie Recek, 97, of Freehold passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at AristaCare at Manchester. She was born and raised in Queens, New York and settled in Freehold in 1999. A devoted homemaker, she dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and welcoming home. Marie was known for her cooking, especially her Sunday sauce, which brought family and friends together and created countless memories. She found joy in simple pleasures. Marie enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, and taking part in one of her favorite pastimes—playing Bingo.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John W. Recek. Marie is survived by her sons, John Recek, Jr. and his wife, Lisa and Robert Recek and his wife, Monika; and grandchildren, Karoline, Nicole, Korinne, Tyler and Matthew; and four great grandchildren, Kendall, Brooks, Spencer and Emmy.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Interment will follow in Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marie’s name may be made to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Post Office Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178-1352.
