Obituary of Antonio Pagliughi

Antonio Pagliughi, 84, of Jackson Township passed away on July 30, 2026, at the Reformed Church Home, Old Bridge.  Antonio immigrated from Italy to the United States at the age of 15. He proudly served in the United States Army. A carpenter by trade, Antonio, dedicated his life to woodworking. He began his career at Bergen Cabinet and worked at Alliance Woodworking, Pilot Woodworking and Midhattan Woodworking.

Known as “The Legend" in the Carpenters Union Local 2790, he dedicated his time and teaching skills to the union, authoring a training manual for the National Carpenters Union instructing the New York and New Jersey District. His talent was evident early on, as he won the New York State Carpentry Contest while in high school.

In his personal time, Antonio enjoyed gardening and was well known for his peach and fig trees. He also had a passion for photography and traveling all over the world during his downtime.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carol Pagliughi and his parents, Federico and Ernesta Pagliughi. Antonio is survived by his two children, Anthony Pagliughi and his wife, Linda of Old Bridge and Anita Helmick and her husband, John of Hagerstown Maryland and granddaughter, Paulina Pagliughi; brother, Bartolomeo Pagliughi and his wife, Beverly.  

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to his 10: 00 AM mass on Monday, August 3, 2026 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson, NJ 08527. Entombment will take place at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, 361 Highway 79
