Obituary of Helen Hrynick

Helen Hrynick, 90, of Crestwood Manor in Whiting, passed away on Thursday October 15, 2015 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was born in 1925 in Garfield, New Jersey, to Peter and Eva Kopko, and grew up in New York City and the surrounding boroughs. Helen was employed at Saks Fifth Avenue and Shell Oil Company when she met her husband, Marty, at Rova Farms Resort in Cassville, NJ. They married in 1955 and settled down in Scotch Plains to start a family. In 1965, they designed and built a home in Jackson, where they raised their three children and lived for over 35 years until moving to Whiting. Helen was a wonderful homemaker and very loving mother. Inspired by Julia Childs and James Beard, she took great pride in cooking and creating exceptional meals. As the children got older, she worked at Orgo-Thermit in Lakehurst and in later years, The Ocean County Health Department. After retiring, she helped her husband, Marty, to manage St Vladimir's Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Jackson and doted on her cherished 6 grandchildren. Helen made things for the people that she liked. There are many handmade comforters, sweaters, and scarves in this world made with her kindness and love. Helen's husband, Martin, died in 2012. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne Wolf and her husband, Warren of Little Silver and Daria Browne and her husband, Mark of Hastings on Hudson, New York; a son, Timothy Hrynick of Little Egg Harbor; six grandchildren Daniel, Alexandra, Zachary, Chelsea, Rose, and Beatrice. She also leaves behind her dear sister in-law, Sunny Lawrence, and beloved niece, Lillian Provenzano and her husband, Dino. We love you Mom and will always remember your kindness. Special Thanks to those at Crestwood Manor for taking care of Mom. You treated her with dignity and it was not always easy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 1:00 PM funeral service at St. Mary's R. O. Church, 316 Cassville Road, Jackson on Thursday, October 22, 2015. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir's R.O. Cemetery, Jackson. For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
