Obituary of Josephine Guinne

JOSEPHINE J. GUINEE, 89, of FARMINGDALE, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 23, at her home. She was born in Perth Amboy and was a lifelong resident of the area. Josephine was one of the rare people that always put friends and family before herself and offered a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a love of animals that was well-known. She rescued, cared for and gave shelter to the animals that no one wanted. They brought great joy and comfort to her life and she loved them dearly. Josephine's sense of humor and smiling face will be greatly missed by those who loved her. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas C. Guinee, in 2006. Together they owned and operated Tom's Tavern, Famingdale since 1960. She is survived by her sister, Evelyn Warienchuck of Bridgewater; her brother, John Mondak of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews. Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2900 W. Bangs Ave., Neptune. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan E. Lusty Glioblastoma Foundation, P.O. Box 225, Great Meadows, NJ 07838, and would be appreciated. Arrangements by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
