Obituary of Raymond Piasecki

RAYMOND Z. PIASECKI, 81, of FREEHOLD, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Mr. Piasecki was born in Newark and had lived in Hazlet/Middletown for 13 years before moving to Surrey Downs, Howell 15 years ago. He was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Freehold. Mr. Piasecki was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at N.J.I.T. Mr. Piasecki was a member of the Polish American Club of Elizabeth. Mr. Piasecki was an electrical engineer with Thomas & Betts, Raritan for 30 years until his retirement 10 years ago. After retiring, he worked as a computer consultant at Lakehurst Naval Air Station. Surviving are his wife, Dolores A. Piasecki; three sons, Raymond Piasecki of San Diego, Calif., Douglas Piasecki of Texas, and Kenneth Piasecki of Toms River; two daughters, Beverly Koch of Island Heights, and Deborah Grzelak of Colts Neck; a brother, Henry P. Piasecki of Hillside; a sister, Helen Rynk of Freehold; and 10 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home for the Rite of Committal, followed by his 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, McLean Street, Freehold. Entombment to follow in St. Gabriel's Cemetery Mausoleum, Marlboro.
