Obituary of Raymond Purrelli
Raymond Purrelli, 82, of Manalapan passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, January 4, 2019 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Ray was born and was raised in Brooklyn, NY. He had lived in West New York, North Bergen, and Edison before moving to the Morganville section of Marlboro in 1980. Ray moved to Manalapan in 2013. Working for the Social Securtiy Administration for over thirty years, he retired as the Director for the State of New Jersey. A man of the sea, Captain Ray could always be found on his boat, “Petrel”, with a rod in his hand and a fish on the line.
Ray was predeceased by his wife, Paula; and two brothers, Robert and Charles. He is survived by his daughter, Renee Purrelli of Freehold Township; a son, Raymond Purrelli and his wife, Dawn of Howell; four grandchildren, Deanna, Cara, Angela, and Raymond Anthony; and a sister, Joanie Walkenspaw of Georgia.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM.
