Obituary of Charles J. Stein
Charles J. Stein, 95, of Jackson passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. He was born and raised in The Bronx, and lived in East Orange and Marlboro before settling here in 2005. Charles was a longshoreman in Port Newark for 36 years. He loved spending time in Florida, and fishing at the Manasquan Inlet with the over-the-rail gang.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rosaria Stein; and sister, Rose Karsten. Surviving are three sons, Charles Stein, Jr. and his wife, Paula of Indiana, Steven Stein and his wife, Dona of Howell, and Bruce Stein and his wife, Patti of Marlboro; grandchildren, Kellin Stein, Emmitt Stein, Christopher Stein and his wife, Rachel, Stephanie Cunliffe and her husband, Zachary, Amanda Stein and Cory Stein; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Lucas and Ivy; and sister, MaryLou Scarborough.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Saturday, January 19, 2019. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Holmdel.
