Obituary of Francis M. Maldony
Francis M. Maldony, 49, of Brick passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 25, 2019. A lifelong resident of Brick, Frank was a soccer player who played and coached for Brick Township Soccer Club. An avid fisherman, he worked the fishing boats in high school, including the Norma K out of Brielle, and he spent time boating and sailing. His fondest pleasure was cooking and it was another thing he excelled at. He loved animals, children and family. Frank was the greatest uncle in the world and adored his nieces and nephews. He was an auto mechanic by trade and had worked in various places, and had also attained the highest rank of the Boy Scouts of America, an Eagle Scout.
Frank leaves behind to mourn his loss his mother, Hannah Maldony and Jack Eardly of Brick; father, Francis X. Maldony of Brick; three siblings, Samantha Vigliarolo and her husband, Jason of Toms River, Cheryl Carvalho and her husband, Daniel of Coral Springs, FL and Sean Maldony and his wife, Amy of Brick; fiancée, Leah Schaefer of Brick; nieces and nephews, Davis, Samuel, Carlena, Damian, Mary, Johanna and Katie; his uncles who helped to raise him, Burt Ward and his husband, Raymond Martin of Red Bank; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his fiancée, Leah Schaefer and her family, John, Jason, and Julia as well as their “Poppy.” Frank loved being a new dad when he met Leah.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:30 PM with his funeral service to follow at 7:30 PM. Interment will be private.
