Obituary of Barbara Mary Sciacca

Barbara Mary Sciacca, 70, of Freehold Township passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at home.  She was born in Queens and raised in Valley Stream, New York.  Barbara had lived in Hewlett and Mount Sinai before settling in Freehold Township in 2017.  She worked as a registered nurse for Franklin General Hospital in Valley Stream prior to working for a private practice in Woodmere.  Barbara enjoyed cooking and decorating, especially for the holidays.  Most importantly, she loved her grandchildren and family dearly. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness towards everyone she met.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 46 years, John Sciacca of Freehold Township; children, John Sciacca, Jr. and his wife, Meredith of Madison, Michael Sciacca and his wife, Jennifer of Colts Neck, and Rosemary “Rosie” Conde and her husband, Joey of Staten Island; and five grandchildren, Julianna, Larissa, Makayla, Santino, and Maryrose.

A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 9:00 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 201 North Central Ave, Valley Stream, New York 11580. Interment and committal service will follow in St. Charles Resurrection Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island, New York 11735.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  For information, directions, or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
