Obituary of Maralyn Miller Campanella

Maralyn Miller Campanella, 77, of Freehold passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020 with her family by her side. She was born and raised in Brooklyn and lived in Glen Rock. Maralyn and her husband traveled overseas to live in Florence, Italy in 1972, moved to Madras, India, and finally settled in Freehold in 1999. She was a passionate cook and baker, especially Italian and Indian food which she learned during her years living around the world. Maralyn enjoyed cooking and baking so much, she had an extensive collection of cook books she acquired throughout her life. She enjoyed making rosaries, as well as crocheting, which included making blankets for newborn children. Maralyn was devoted to her family, especially spending quality time with her grandchildren. She and her grandchildren would enjoy making biscotti together for many of their family gatherings. She was predeceased by her parents, Oscar and Mary Miller; and her aunt, Ida Vomero. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Biagio Bennett Campanella; children, Risa DiSanti and her husband, Vincent of Long Island, and Alyx Cosgrove and her husband, Bryan of Freehold; grandchildren, Elena, Daniella, Vincent, Emily, Andrew, and Brendan; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 10:30 AM for the procession to her 11:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 16 McLean Street, Freehold. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum, 549 Newman Springs Road, Marlboro.
