Obituary of Russell L. Pecchia

Russell L.Pecchia, 73, of Farmingdale passed away on Friday June 5th, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He was born in New York City. Russell had lived up and down the east coast from Maine to Florida and as far west as Chicago training and racing harness horses. His passion for Horse Racing spanned for over 30 years until his retirement, culminating with his favorite horse "Russ Lyn Scott." He settled in Lakewood with his wife to raise his family. Russell moved to Farmingdale in 2010. He most recently worked as an Uber and Lyft driver. He loved interacting with his customers and took pride in his "Five Star Rating," prior to that, he owned and operated Lynda Pecchia Food Concessions at The Monmouth County Golf Course, Hominy Hill Howell, and Charleston Springs.

Russell was a jack of all trades, he had a passion for cooking, he enjoyed going to the track, fishing, crabbing and clamming, he would tell everyone "The best clams come from Barnegat Bay." He also loved family dinners at Rooney's. Being a true family man, he played "Santa for his grandkids."

He will be missed for his sarcastic humor.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Lynda Pecchia; two sons, Russell Pecchia of Freehold Borough and Scott Pecchia of Farmingdale; and three grandchildren, Sloan, Kelsey, and Lucas.
