Obituary of Frances M. Hoffmann
Frances ¨Fran¨ M. Hoffmann, 73, of Howell Township went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2021. She was born in Liverpool, England and traveled to the United States with her mother and two sisters when she was a teenager, landing in Long Island. She graduated from Freeport High School. After high school she moved to New Jersey and lived in Somerville, East Brunswick, and settled in Howell in 1983. Frances was a natural caretaker and nurturer. She worked in childcare her whole life, in addition to raising three of her own children. Frances loved to spend time in her garden tending to her flowers. She could sew expertly, particularly when creating and altering clothes for herself and her family. A true mother to anyone in her home, Frances loved cooking for her family and all her guests. She especially enjoyed time of Bible fellowship on Sundays with her family. She will be remembered being surrounded by her children and their families celebrating the love shared and made in her home.
Frances is survived by her children, Michael A. James and his wife, Lori of Manalapan; Edward Hoffmann and his Fiancée Deana of Brick Township; and Mary Cohen and her husband, Jason of Howell; grandchildren, Lydia, Halle, Julia, Jared, Jolie, Emilia and Ethan; sisters, Thelma Crunkleton of Las Vegas, and Margaret Taylor and her husband, Kenneth of Long Island.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM Words of Remembrance on Friday, April 9, 2021. For the safety of the public and our staff, we are asking everyone to help us adhere to the CDC guidelines. Facemasks will be required. For those that cannot attend in person, the family invites you to participate via Webcast through the Funeral Home website HERE. Interment will follow in Old Tennent Cemetery, 454 Tennent Road, Manalapan Township 07726.
