Obituary of Catherine V. Smith

Catherine V. Smith, 84, of Summit passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 11, 2021.  Catherine was born and raised in New York City.  She moved to Freehold Township in 1966, and also had a home in Harbor Island, Bahamas. In 2015, she moved to Summit.  Catherine had worked as a Private Duty Registered Nurse for many years.  She enjoyed sewing and cooking, and had a passion for traveling the world.  Most of all, she lived a philanthropic life.

Catherine was predeceased by her husbands, Kenneth R. Smith, Jr. and Jack Valentine.  She is survived by her children, Cassandra and her husband, William of Summit, Melissa of Red Bank, and Robert and his wife Nicole of Freehold; four grandchildren, Brett, Morgan, Christian, and Lauren; two sisters, Elizabeth of New York City and Virginia and her husband, Oliver of Sarasota, FL.
