Obituary of William A. Mullins Jr.
William A. Mullins, Jr., 73 of Long Branch passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2022. He was born and raised in Hoboken, summered in the Barley Point section of Rumson, and also lived in Nanuet, NY and Freehold Township before settling in Long Branch in 2007. Bill graduated from St. Peter’s University in Jersey City and went to work as an accountant for Tokio Marine Holdings in New York City for over 30 years. He played for the Barley Point Islanders men’s softball team and enjoyed golfing. Bill was a sports enthusiast and a fan of the NY Yankees and the NY Giants, as well as St. Peter’s and Duke college basketball teams. You could often find him relaxing in his backyard, either floating in his pool or relaxing in the hot tub.
Bill was predeceased by his sister, Geraldine Taylor. He is survived by two daughters, Anne Aroneck and her husband, Mark of Seattle, WA, and Samantha Mullins and her husband, Jonathan Misskerg of Madison; grandchildren, Ripley Jane, Sullivan Storm, Benjamin Stephen and Mackenzie Grace; and sisters, Carol Tagileri and her husband, Anthony of Aberdeen and Bernadette Becker and her husband, Tom Lynch of Rumson.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 9:30 AM for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at the Co-Cathedral of St. Robert Bellarmine, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Entombment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 360 Broadway, Keyport.
