Donna Lee

Obituary of Donna L. Lee

Donna L. Lee (81), of Freehold passed away on Monday evening, October 31, 2022, at the Hackensack Meridian Health Nursing & Rehabilitation facility in Shrewsbury (NJ).  She was born and raised in Stockbridge (MA) and she resided in Matawan (NJ), Scottsdale (AZ) and Topeka (KS) before finally living the remainder of her life in Freehold when she came back to New Jersey in 1995.  Donna was the office manager and benefits administrator at Nappi Trucking Inc, Matawan for most of her working career.  A woman of great faith, Donna's volunteer work was influential at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in Farmingdale (NJ), where she was involved in the Rosary Altar Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Finance Committee, Eucharistic Ministries, Extraordinary Ministries, Homebound Ministry, Faith to Move Mountains, Parish Pastoral Council and was a trustee as well as Chair for the Annual Catholic Bishops Appeal.  She never missed a daily mass and her dedication to the Catholic Church will never be forgotten.  In her spare time, she loved to cook, entertain and travel with her family and friends.  Donna’s greatest gift in life was her family and friends (who became family) and she enjoyed every moment spent with them as her memory will live on through them.

Donna was one of three (3) sisters from her mother Anne McGill.  Of that nuclear family, she is immediately survived by her son, Daniel Martins and his beloved Jennifer of Freehold along with her biological and extended grandchildren; Megan, Jack, Carmela, and Salvatore.  She was recently preceded in death by her sister, Sally Carlson (MA) whose children (Donna’s Nieces and Nephews) survive Sally; Jill, Wendy, Bobby and Eric.  She is also survived by her sister, Sharon Wiley (AZ) and Sharon’s son, Roger (Donna’s Nephew).  As Donna’s mother was one of eleven children, she is also survived by many cousins and she made many life-long friends that she considered as family, all of which she held very dear to her heart.

Visitation (viewing) will be held on Friday, November 4th from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home (100 Elton Adelphia Road) in Freehold.  Family and friends are invited to attend mass at the St. Leo the Great Parish on Saturday, November 5th at 9:30AM in Lincroft (NJ).  Cremation will be private.  In lieu of Flowers, the family has asked donations to be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Jude’s and / or the St. Leo the Great Parish in Donna’s name.
