Obituary of Helen Barna
Helen Barna, 96, of Monroe Township, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Roosevelt Care Center at Old Bridge, NJ. Helen was born in Luzerne County, PA and had lived in Plains Township, PA and Hudson, NJ before moving to York and then settling in Monroe Township in 2005. She had worked as a seamstress and a store clerk, but her real passion was buying and selling antiques. In her spare time, Helen enjoyed ceramics and being around family.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Paul Barna; her daughter and son-in-law, Rita and William McKeon; son, Bernard Barna; and brothers, Joseph, Walter, Jr. and Leonard.
She is survived by her brother, Eugene Nowicki and his wife, Joan; grandchildren, Eddie Barna and his wife, Kelly, Trisha Kelly and her husband, Shawn, Lisa Rucinski and her husband, Bruce and Rhonda Yale; eleven great grandchildren, Jack, Grace, Grant, Freddy, Connor, Alec, Devin, Kayleigh, Shane, Vanessa, and Kevin; two great-great grandchildren, Jacob and Isabella; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Barna; and many nieces and nephews.
All arrangements are private by Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township, NJ. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre, PA.
