Obituary of Wayne Walling
Wayne David Walling, 81, of Howell, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born in Marlboro and was a lifelong resident of Howell. Wayne worked at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital for 30 years, retiring as the safety director. He was a little league coach for North Howell Little League. Wayne enjoyed horse racing, hunting, and cheering on the Giants and Rangers. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching them when they were young and encouraging their interests as they grew. He never missed an opportunity to cheer them on during any of their extracurricular activities. Wayne was a beloved and devoted husband, father, Pop-Pop, G-Pop, and friend to many.
He is predeceased by his parents, Jacob and Doris Walling; brother, Gregory Walling; sister, Mary Noraas; sister in-law, Carol Walling; brother-in-law, Leon Kuey. Wayne is survived by his wife, Joan Walling of Howell; two children, Wayne Walling and his wife, Lynne of Virginia and Dawn Dice and her husband, Michael of Howell; seven grandchildren, Karissa Schiller and her husband, Blake, Michael Dice and his wife, Bri, Derrik Walling and his wife, Mackenzie, Dalton Walling, Alyssa Ramm and her husband, Joseph, Kalli Walling and her significant other, Matthew Pierce, and Gabrielle Dice; three great grandchildren, Brooks, Brayden, and Olivia, and one great grandson on the way; siblings, Laura Becker and her husband, William, Thomas Walling and his wife, Catherine, Susan Jablonski and her husband, Joseph, Brian Walling, Sarah Butala and her husband, Thomas, Dennis Walling and his wife, Teresa, Daniel Walling and his wife, Kim, Mark Walling and his significant other, Barbara Biddle; sister in law, Janet Kuey and brother in law, Andreas Noraas.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton- Adelphia Road, Freehold Township on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and Friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 9:30 AM for the procession to his 10:30 AM Funeral Mass at St. Rose of Lima, 16 Mc Lean St, Freehold.
