Obituary of Hollis C. Edwards
Hollis C. Edwards, 65, of Howell Township passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Hollis, who was better known as Claude or Shadow, was born in Montclair and was raised in Wall. Claude then lived in Brick before moving to Howell. He retired from the Monmouth County Department of Information Services in 2021 with over 25 years of dedicated service. Claude was a local and national aficionado of all things racing. He could constantly be found at Wall Stadium or New Egypt Raceway or in front of the T.V. watching a race. Years ago, Shadow was a roller skater at the Brick Forum, Jackson, and Wall Roller Drome rinks. Always there to help with a lending hand, he was your go to guy for your I.T. problems and automotive trouble shooting / repair.
Claude is survived by his children, Sean Ryan, Holly Patterson and her husband, Stan, Jr., Barbara Edwards, and Thomas Edwards; three grandchildren, Harmony, Willow, and Makayla; his brother, William Slade; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia Edwards and Lawrence Zaayenga; and numerous cousins and dear friends.
