Obituary of Joseph Scotto
Joseph Scotto, 81, of Howell passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and was a lifelong resident of Howell. Joe was a graduate of Freehold Regional High School Class of 1962. He was most well known as the owner of Scotto Auto Sales in Howell, a business he operated for close to 60 years, where he was still working at the time of his passing.
As a young man, he was an NHRA drag car racer. Part of the Scotto and Blevins race team, this duo went on to hold both a National Hot Rod Association world title and an American Hot Rod Association world title with their 1955 Chevrolet Nomad. To date he still frequented local car shows where he would show his 1985 Cadillac El Dorado Britz convertible. Joe also loved his Corvettes, but his love for cars paled in comparison to his devotion to his family.
