Condolences
I will forever miss her wisdom, courage, strength and most of all her LOVE!! To have known her my entire life and for her to have raised me I am truly blessed..I would not be the person I am today if not for Nanna. She has taken care of many families, helping raise their children as if her own, and all those families still to present day never stopped caring for her. She was a woman of great love and compassion!! Her mind was amazing never forgetting a thing. Her stories she told kept you asking for more. I can speak for all of us that she has touched in our lives, I thank you and will love you always!!! I thank you all and so does Nanna for being a part of her life and making it special . She was a simple person with a BIG LOVING PERSONALITY. She will be greatly missed .<3
Betty was a sweetheart and the last of a great generation of hard working people. She didn't have a easy life and worked hard for everything she had. She was always willing to help out anyone that needed it. I can still see her helping out my mom and dad during the summer when they were busy with their vegetable farm stand. I loved talking to Betty about the good ole days of Farmingdale...she was always optimistic and saw the glass always half full instead of half empty. I learned a lot from Betty and also a lot of really good recipes. l will miss her.
My family used to live across the street from Miss Betty on Colts Neck Road for several years. She was such a wonderful person. When my parents split up, she checked in periodically with my mom to make sure everything was all right. Her late husband Ed's birthday was the same date as my brother Chris. Miss Betty would invite Chris over to have ice cream and cake with Mr. Ed. She always gave us something for Christmas when we were kids. You could count on her to always say a friendly "hello" or engage in a bit of chit-chat. Miss Betty was also the first person to offer her condolences to me when my mom died in 1998 before I notified anyone else--she saw me pull into my mother's driveway and just knew something bad had happened. She was such a caring person and I'll never forget her kindness. She was the type of neighbor we all should have.
