Obituary of Lillian Sottile
Lillian F. Sottile, 89, of Tinton Falls passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2014 with her family at her side. Lillian, the daughter of Pellegrino and Louise Fanciullo, was born and raised on Staten Island, NY, and had lived in Monroe Township prior to settling in Seabrook Village. She was past president of the Women's Auxiliary of Richmond County Medical Society and past chairperson and board member of fundraising for Richmond Home Need Services, among other organizations. Earlier in her life, she was a secretary for the U.S. Government in Washington, DC. Lillian was an avid bridge player and golfer throughout her life; however, her greatest joy was taking care of her family.
Lillian is survived by her sons, Thomas Sottile and his wife, Jane, John Sottile and his wife, Tanya, and Vincent Sottile and his wife, Diane; and her daughter, LeeAnn Confortini and her husband, Andy. She was the grandmother to eight grandchildren; and a dear sister to Gilbert Fanciullo and William Fanciullo and the late Saverio. She is also survived by extended family including many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the Church of St. Charles Borromeo, 47 Skillman Road, Skillman. Interment will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lillian may be made to American Cancer Society, 2310 Route 34, Suite 1D, Manasquan, NJ 08736.
