Obituary of Maxine Kaufman

Maxine Lorraine Kaufman, 73, of Farmingdale passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Geraldine L. Thompson Care Center, Wall. Maxine was born, raised and had lived in Butler, PA before moving to Farmingdale in 1961. She was a Registered Nurse and the Director of Nursing at Springview Nursing Home, Freehold Twp. and had worked at many other facilities until her retirement in 2003. Maxine was an active member of the Farmingdale First United Methodist Church and member of the A.G.A.P.E. Women's Group. She enjoyed quilting and had a passion for ice cream, but her true love was for her family and the time she spent with them. Maxine is survived by her husband, Michael Kaufman; her children, Brett Werth, Todd Werth and his fiancée, Jessica Goodwin of Brick, Lucinda Cooney and her husband, Roger of Jackson; her step-children, Michael E. Kaufman, Beth Anne Kaufman, and Kelly Anne Kennedy; her four grandchildren, Ella Jaymes, Dylan Michael, Roger and Katie; five step-grandchildren; a step-great grandson; seven siblings, Joan Gumpp, Shirley Dunn, Rita Curven, Karen Gacicia, Dorothy Chutz, David Klepper and Phyllis Vail; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 11:00 AM funeral service on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Farmingdale, 8 Main Street, Farmingdale, NJ 07727. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown. For those who desire, contributions in memory of Maxine may be made to the church.
