Obituary of James Turanicza
James Michael Turanicza, Sr., 52, of Jackson passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014. James was born in Frankfort, Germany, grew up in Edison and had lived in North Brunswick before settling in Jackson in 1993. He was a correction officer for Middlesex County Department of Corrections for 25 years and a member of PBA 152. James was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge #16 F. & A.M. of Freehold. He coached little league and brought his team the Royals to win the Championship in 2001. James loved his country and served as a U.S. Marine. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons. James was also dedicated loving father and new grandfather.
He was predeceased by a son, Sean Turanicza in 2012; and a brother, Robert Turanicza in 1987. James is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nancy Turanicza of Jackson; a son, James Michael Turanicza, Jr. of Voorhees; two daughters, Madeline Marquez of Jackson and Breanna Turanicza of North Brunswick; a granddaughter, Dakota Sean Marquez of Jackson; his parents, Andrew and Arlene Turanicza of Edinberg, VA; and a brother, Richard Turanicza of North Brunswick.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 11:00 AM funeral service at the funeral home on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Cremation will be private.
