Obituary of Pearle Childs

PEARLE L. CHILDS, 86, of JACKSON, died Wednesday, June 4, at Brandywine Hospital, Coatesville, Pa. Mrs. Childs was born in Jackson and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Siloam United Methodist Church, Freehold Township. She was also a member of the Jackson Seniors. Mrs. Childs worked in the school cafeterias for the Jackson Township School System for many years, retiring in 1984. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell A., in 1995. Surviving are a daughter, Teresa Chansky of East Fallowfield, Pa.; a son, Russell O. Childs of Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, Grandin and Christina Thompson of Freehold Township; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend her funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pearle's memory may be made to the Siloam United Methodist Church, the American Heart Association, or the New Jersey Foundation for the Blind.
