Obituary of Christopher Wasson
Christopher David Wasson, 72, of Toms River passed away peacefully at Wedgwood Gardens Care Center, Freehold Township on Friday, October 3, 2014. Chris was born and raised in North Tonawanda, NY and had lived in Johnstown, PA, Miami, OK, and Lakewood, NJ before settling in Toms River. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War serving in Germany and stateside. Chris was a teller in the banking industry working in New York City lastly for Chase Manhattan Bank. He was a very gentle and kind person who was much loved by his family.
Chris was predeceased by his parents, David and Virginia Wasson. He is survived by his siblings, Janet Zehr and her husband, Richard of North Tonawanda, NY, Dr. Lucinda Monica and her husband, Dr. Michael F. Monica of Farmingdale, Douglas Wasson and his wife, Barbara, Lawrence, KS, Roy Wasson of Fort Myers, FL, and Pamela Hale and her husband, William of East Meredith, NY; seven nephews; eleven nieces; and numerous great nephews and nieces.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route #524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. For those who desire memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Project, P. O.
