Obituary of Margaret Sgroi

Margaret VanDerveer Sgroi, 89, of Jackson passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Margaret was born in New Brunswick and had lived in Belmar before moving to Jackson 15 years ago. She was a clerk at Ethicon in Somerville. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Felix Sgroi in 2007. She is survived by one son, James F. VanDerveer of Nazareth, PA; two daughters, Karen Raymond of Scotch Plains and Margaret Arling of Fair Play, SC; two sisters, Anne Monaghan of Nashville, TN and Evelyn Gralewski of Leesport, PA; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Zoey. Visitation will be at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, October 19, 2014 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 12:30 PM funeral service at the funeral home on Monday, October 20, 2014. Interment will follow in Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery , Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's name to Popcorn Park Zoo, 1 Humane Way, Forked River, NJ 08731 would be appreciated.
