Obituary of Donald Ernst

Donald R. Ernst, 75, of Whiting passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 18, 2014. Donald was born in Schleswig, Iowa and had lived in Howell, NJ and Phoenix, AZ before settling in Whiting in 1992. Donald served in the U.S. Navy. He was a self employed building contractor working throughout Ocean and Monmouth Counties until retiring in 2004. He enjoyed his retirement traveling, playing golf and spending time with his loving grandchildren. Donald was predeceased by a sister, Doris Pennington. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly Ernst of Whiting; a son, Donald R. Ernst and his wife, Kimberly of Howell; a daughter, Audrey Isaly and her husband, Charles of Scottsdale, AZ; and three grandchildren, Jake Ernst, Jarrett Ernst and Adam Isaly. A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 6:00 PM.
