Obituary of Helen DeFranco
HELEN DeFRANCO, 84, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died Tuesday, June 24, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp. Mrs. DeFranco was born in Portage, Pa., and had lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Bay Terrace, Staten Island before moving to Silvermead, Freehold Township, 28 years ago. She was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township. Mrs. DeFranco was a member of the Silvermead Community Club, the Silvermead Prayer Club, both of Freehold Township and the Freehold Township Senior Center. Mrs. DeFranco was an Administrative Assistant with the Monmouth County Motor Pool, Freehold, for 10 years, retiring in 1994.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas S. in 1998. Surviving are three sons, Thomas DeFranco of Storrs, Ct., Steven DeFranco of Sewell, and Joseph DeFranco of Manalapan; one daughter, Paula Sullivan of Manchester; one sister, Emma Cariffe of Manhattan, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Relatives and friends may gather at 9 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Home for the Rite of Committal followed by her 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township.
