Obituary of John Macklin
John T. Macklin, 65, of Howell passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was born in Bayonne and grew up in Freehold Township before settling in Howell where he was a member of the first graduating class of Howell High School. John was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam War. He was a machine operator for Monmouth County Reclamation Center, Tinton Falls and belonged to the American Legion, Lakewood.
John is survived by one son, John Macklin of Beachwood; one daughter, Tiffany Romano of Brick; five grandchildren, Richie, Miranda, Austin, Ryan and Travis; his former wife, Darlene Jones of Cape Coral, FL; his mother, Anna Marie Macklin of FL; one brother, Brian Macklin of FL; and two sisters, Patricia Macklin of Jackson and Kathleen Fishman of MS.
Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 9:30 AM for a service before his 11:00 AM burial with military honors at Brigadier General Wm. C.
