Obituary of Maria Roschko

Maria Roschko, 89, of Spotswood passed away at home on Monday, November 10, 2014. Maria was born in Kharkov, Ukraine and had lived in Austria and Argentina before coming to the United States in 1960. She settled in South River before moving to Spotswood. Maria was a member of St. George's Russian Orthodox Church, Howell. Maria was predeceased by her husband, Leonid Roschko; two brothers, Andre and Ivan; two sisters, Tatiana and Ana; and two son-in-laws, Edward Fafara and H. Stephen McCall. She is survived by two daughters, Ludmila Fafara of Spotswood and Nelida "Neli" McCall of Spotswood; a son, Rev. Leonid Roschko and his wife, Marguerita of Howell; six grandchildren, Marc Fafara, Daniel Fafara, Stephen McCall, Nikolai Roschko, Alexandra Roschko and Aleksei Roschko; one sister, Olga of Washington State; seven nephews; and two nieces. A pannyhida will be held at St. George's Russian Orthodox Church, 57 East Third Street, Howell, NJ 07731 on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 10:00 AM funeral service on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the church. Interment will follow in St. Vladimir Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Jackson. The arrangements are under the direction of the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
