Obituary of James Polhemus
James H. Polhemus, 91, of Freehold Township died Monday, November 10, 2014 at home. Jimmy was born in Howell Township and was a lifelong resident of Freehold Township. Mr. Polhemus was a former member of the Jerseyville United Methodist Church, a former member of the Adelphia Fire Company and had also been a member of the Farmingdale Grange #152.
Jimmy, along with his brother, the late Russell Polhemus who died in 2005, owned and operated a family farm in Freehold Township for over sixty years. Besides being predeceased by his brother, Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, William H. Polhemus and Adeline Gibson Polhemus. He is survived by several cousins including his caregiver, Ellsworth Gibson, Jr. of Freehold Township.
Visitation will be at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM with his funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM with Rev.
