Obituary of Stella Posid
Stella J. Posid, 94, of Delmar, NY formally of Freehold passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, NY. Stella was born in New York City and had lived in Ozone Park and Freehold before moving to Delmar, NY in August. She had worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, New York City, in their Tax Division for fifteen years until her retirement. Stella was an active member of the Villages Community and many of the clubs there. She was a diehard Yankees fan and loved to spend time in her garden. Stella reveled in the time she spent with her various knitting and sewing groups and the charity organizations she volunteered for. She had made 1601 baby caps for CentraState Medical Center, where they honored her with a plaque for her immeasurable hours of service. Stella was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, Freehold Township.
Stella was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Posid; a brother, Anthony Hryniowski; and a sister, Helen Oltman. She is survived by three sons, Steven Posid and his wife, Lynn of Forest, VA, Joseph Posid and his wife, Ginny of Atlanta, GA and Michael Posid and his wife, Lynn of Garnerville, NY; a daughter, Barbara Ulitsky and her husband, George of Nassau, NY; seven grandchildren, Sarah Miller and her husband, Michael, Daniel Posid and his wife, Amanda, Matthew Posid and his wife, Sarah, Catherine Ulitsky, Roman Ulitsky, Tasha Posid and Krysta Posid; five grandchildren, Ryan, Grace, Alex, David and Declan; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 2:30 to 4:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 4:00 PM. Interment will be in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle NJ Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown at the convenience of the family.
