Obituary of Thomas Tocci
Thomas S. Tocci, Sr., 68, of Manalapan passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Twp. Thomas was born, raised and had lived in Brooklyn before moving to Staten Island, back to Brooklyn, then to Lantana, FL, finally settling in Manalapan in 2004. He retired as a shop steward for NYC - Department of Sanitation. Prior to that, Thomas worked for his family's waste management business, as a cement mason, and a bartender. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam. Thomas volunteered for Veterans Hospitals in Brooklyn and West Palm Beach. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Marilyn Tocci; two sons, Thomas Tocci, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Freehold Township and James Tocci of the Woodrow section of Staten Island; and two grandchildren, Thomas Tocci, III and Matthew Tocci.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 8:30 AM followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Interment will be private.
