Obituary of Frank D'Alessio

Frank T. D'Alessio, 88, of Howell passed away at home surrounded by his family on Friday, November 21, 2014. He was born in Bronx, NY and had lived in Staten Island before settling in Howell in 2004. Having served as a decorated Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II, he was awarded the purple heart in combat and received a bronze star medal. After 42 years of employment for the United States Postal Service, he retired in the executive management branch. Frank belonged to the American Legion, the VFW and the Toast Masters International. An avid fan of the Yankees and Frank Sinatra, he loved his family more than anything. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Joan D'Alessio in 2003. He is survived by one daughter, Barbara Fernandez and her husband, Orlando of Howell; two sons, John D'Alessio and his wife, Donna of Howell and Frank T. D'Alessio, Jr. and his wife, Madeline of Morganville; eight grandchildren, Alana Beldowicz and her husband, Daniel of Howell; Danille Roseland and her husband, Timothy of Red Bank; Emily D'Alessio and her fiancé, Austin Isetts, Jillianne D'Alessio and Michael D'Alessio all of Howell; Frank James D'Alessio, Keira D'Alessio and Erin D'Alessio all of Morganville; and six great grandchildren, Danny, Alexandra, Brendan, Victoria, Kelsey, and Connor. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 10:15 AM Funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 644 Clawson Street, Staten Island, NY 10306. Interment to follow at Cemetery of the Resurrection, 361 Sharrott Avenue, Staten Island, NY.
