Obituary of Evelyn Smith

Evelyn V. Smith nee Langman, of Colts Neck passed away on November 23, 2014 one day shy of her 97th birthday. Evelyn was a Registered Nurse, serving with honor in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp, stationed in Europe during World War II, an OR Nurse and a private duty nurse on Long Island, NY. She was also a renowned watercolor artist, antiques collector and quilter. Evelyn was the beloved mother of Jessica and Melanie; loving grandmother of Danielle and Neil; and much-cherished 'GG" of Kaitlin and Hailey. She is also survived by her beloved friends Kitty and Doug. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; her parents, Ruth Deter and Harry Langman; and her sister, Dorothy Rickey. Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM with a funeral service to take place during the visitation. Cremation will be private.
