Obituary of Lester Heulitt
LESTER M. HEULITT, 95, of MARLBORO, died Sunday, June 29, at Care One at Jackson. Mr. Heulitt was born in Asbury Park, was raised in Colts Neck and had lived in Upper Black Eddy, Pa., before moving to Marlboro in 1943. Mr. Heulitt received his bachelor of science degree in commercial science from Rider College, Class of 1930, at the age of 18. He was also a graduate of Red Bank High School. He was a member of the Old Brick Reformed Church of Marlboro. He was a member of the Atlantic Grange, the Monmouth Pomona Grange and the New Jersey State Grange. He was also a member of the Freehold Elks Lodge. He worked in banking for the Allentown Bank for 13 years. Mr. Heulitt owned and operated the Lester M. Heulitt Insurance Agency for 50 years. He was a real estate broker and an investment adviser from 1987 until his retirement in November 2003.
He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta J., in 1986; his son, Russell L. and his wife, Ruth; and two great-grandsons, Adam Heulitt and Christopher Staples. He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Howard L. Heulitt of Red Oak, Va., and Leslie M. Heulitt and his wife, Margaret, of Woodland, Calif.; one daughter and one son-in-law, Isabella L. Orr and her husband, Stanley W., of Manalapan; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Heitz of Jackson; 14 grandchildren, Daniel Heulitt, David Heulitt, Sara Guarino, Lori Mae Heulitt, Douglas Heulitt, Russell Heulitt Jr., Bryan Heulitt, Noreen Baldasari, Bruce Heulitt, Christopher Heulitt, Sharon J. Orr, Thomas S. Orr, Mark Heulitt and Geralyn Arroyos; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road, Freehold Township. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Frederickson officiating. Interment will follow in Atlantic Cemetery, Colts Neck. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lester may be made to the charity of your choice.
