Obituary of Rose Hurley
Rose M. Hurley, 87 of Howell passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center. Rose was born in New York City, and was raised and had lived on Staten Island before settling in The Villages in 1998. She was a former member of the PTA and of St. Michael's Catholic Church both of Staten Island. She was a member of the Howell Senior Center and the Friendship Club at The Villages. Rose, a true Italian grandmother, was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and cooking, carrying on family traditions and telling stories. She loved to travel with her family throughout the years. Rose was also a 34 year breast cancer survivor.
She was predeceased by a brother, Mario Concilio; and two sisters, Dorothy Page and Gloria Lentz. Rose is survived by her husband of 63 years, William P. Hurley of Howell; three daughters, Denise Morgan and her husband, Robert of New Windsor, NY, Karen Pierce and her husband, Lester of Lincroft, and Ellen DiMarco and her husband, Philip of Howell; two special nieces who she raised, Gail Morgan and her husband, Richard and their children, Alyssa and Richard of Freehold and Linda Senanayake and her husband, Harsh and their child, Amy of Howell; eight grandchildren, William Morgan and his wife, Maddy, Timothy Morgan and his fiancée, Randi Harris, Kathleen Pierce and her fiancé, Jason Levy, Megan Pierce, Dana Pierce, Joseph DiMarco, Matthew DiMarco and Philip DiMarco; one great grandson, Liam; and many other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Visitation will be held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Monday, December 15, 2014 for the procession to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 31 Asbury Road, Farmingdale for her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass.
