Obituary of Parent Roe

Parent E. Roe, Jr., 71, of Farmingdale passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at home. Parent was born in Neptune, NJ. He was a technician and instructor for Verizon. Parent was the former chief and president of the Farmingdale Fire Company, and served on the Farmingdale Borough Council in the 1970's. He was the Grand Marshall for the 2010 Farmingdale Memorial Day Parade, and was a member of the Farmingdale-Howell First Aid. Parent was an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 13 in Farmingdale. He and a group of volunteers of the Berlin Airlift Historical Foundation reconstructed and restored a C-54 for the 50th year anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, and Parent was the navigator on this historic flight. He also was a Deputy Conservation Officer for twenty years for the State of New Jersey. Parent is survived by his wife, Dolores; one son, Parent III and his daughter-in-law, Amiee Beauvais of Howell; two grandchildren, Connor and Carley Roe; his niece, Jennie-Sue Ward and her husband, Tommy and their children, Thomas and Allison Ward; one sister, Joan R. Windeler and her husband, Richard of Florida and their children, Cynthia Turner and Jim Windeler; and a sister-in-law, Judith Fitzgerald of Florida. Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his December 27th funeral service at Pierce Memorial Presbyterian Church, 42 Main Street, Farmingdale at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steve Kengeter officiating.
