Obituary of John Foley
John W. Foley,85, of Freehold, NJ passed away at CentraState Medical Center on Thursday, February 23, 2012. John was born and raised in Bayonne, NJ before moving to Surrey Downs, Freehold 15 years ago. He was employed by the City of Bayonne in the maintenance department, prior to that John was employed by J & L Steel in Bayonne. John was a member of the V.F.W Post #226 and the American Legion Post #165 both of Bayonne. He was a Parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Farmingdale. John was a US Navy veteran serving during WWII.
He was predeceased by seven brothers and one sister. Surviving is his wife, Eleanor Foley of Freehold; two sons, John Foley of Manalapan and James Foley of Aberdeen; a daughter, Diane Damato of Bayville; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a sister Eleanor Trojanowski of Old Bridge.
Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Rite of Committal at the funeral home on Monday, February 27, 2012 at 8:00 AM followed by his 9:00 AM Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Chapel, Main Street, Farmingdale, NJ. Interment will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
